Winchester MayFest - roots, folk, blues
Winchester's celebration of music, dance and song
Friday 15th May - Saturday 16th May 2009
Workshops and Sessions

Mayfest isn't just about watching, listening and being entertained. It's also about getting involved, learning new skills, singing, playing and dancing with others. These are some of the ways you can be part of the Mayfest experience.

Youth Ceilidh Project
The Youth Ceilidh Project is for 10 to 18 year old players of all instruments and offers you the chance to learn all the skills you need to play in a ceilidh band. You'll be taught some great dance tunes, work out arrangements and harmonies and learn how to work with a band to produce music that people just can't resist dancing to. Participants will be invited to play along for some of the dances in the evening ceilidh with the Bursledon Village Band, one of the most respected bands in the business.
3pm to 11pm (with a break late afternoon) Winchester Guildhall
Admission free but booking is essential. To book your place either email ycp@winmayfest.co.uk or phone Dave Ingledew on 023 8045 7964
